If you have a spare Friday or Saturday this year, and would like to come and walk with me, that would be brilliant.  All walks are a little weather dependent, and I'm not planning destinations very far in advance.  That said, I'm hoping to reach Dartmoor's highest point on a day close to my actual birthday.  Contact me in the usual ways, including via Budd's Bookkeeping.

You may not be able to join me on a walk, but you can also get involved by donating to one of my chosen charities for the year.  I've chosen one local, one national and one international, so there's plenty of choice.  All recognise how fortunate we are to be able to choose to disappear off to a place such as Dartmoor, with good boots, fuel in the car and sometimes a hearty breakfast or lunch stop too.

Shekinah works with people in recovery, often with those who are homeless in the city of Plymouth and beyond.  The work goes beyond providing shelter, to working with the whole person, developing skills for life and work.  I have yet to confirm - but I believe £170 was raised during the year for Shekinah.

We have supported Christians Against Poverty for a long time and has always impressed us with their vision and the way the work has expanded and responded to change.  They work with those who are in debt, but also tackling issues around debt such as unemployment and drug dependency.  A total of £325 was raised on a Just Giving page through the year - you can still donate by going directly to the CAP website.

Mbare, Zimbabwe was in the news before Christmas, and is close to our hearts as we visited there in 2017.  The partnership between our church and Mbare Methodist Church means we are able to work with them to assist those who are really suffering in that community.  £170 was raised online for the partnership, plus more which was paid via Saltash Wesley.  To find out more, ask at https://www.facebook.com/SaltashWesleyChurch
